There’s a song that comes to mind…..
Leaving on a jet plane don’t know when I’ll be back again….
We are in fact leaving on a jet plane, but we do know when we will be back again. We have a little over a week away until the big trip to Kenya. We are excited (and nervous) to see what the Lord has planned for us. I think we are both still not grasping that we will be boarding a plane next Wednesday on trip that we expect will be life changing. I am sure as we start to gather our things it will hit like a freight train. The questions that run through our minds are constant…the biggest being what does our future hold and what is the Lord going to show us on this trip.
A few details to share. We will be staying with Gary and Mary Jane, a couple currently serving with ABWE. [We were supposed to be splitting our time there between two different couples but the one just had a medical emergency and had to return to the United States, so we would ask that you keep them, Russ and Mary, in your prayers.] While there we will be observing and helping out with current ministries as well as meeting local people, and seeing the site that has been purchased for a future community center. The hope is that the community center will be an outreach that eventual churches will grow from. We are very interested in being a part of the different outreach programs to be held at the future community center and we hope to further explore our possibilities while over there. John has also been asked to both teach and preach so please keep him in your prayers as well.
So with a week to go we are making packing lists and hoping not to forget anything.
We ask that you pray that as we physically prepare that the Lord would prepare our hearts for what he would have for us. Ten days and counting……

You are both in my thoughts and prayers and always in my heart. I will pray with all the strength I have that God will clearly show you the path you are to take. I will pray that he send his angles to keep you safe. I pray that all those who come in contact with you will see Jesus in you. I will pray that your family and friends will not be anxious for you but that they have faith that God will see you through.
